4) How does this
program compare to other coaching programs?
What sets Advancing Ministry Coaching
Academy apart from other programs is: It is Biblically-based
coaching; We offer a high caliber and quantity of on-site
coaching; We provide graduates with a ready-to-go, stand-alone
coaching curriculum for their clients and practice - "The
Calling"; You are taught to coach while also experiencing
coaching to have a substantial change in your life; The program
provides a comprehensive grounding in coaching and in how
to develop a successful coaching practice; The trainers are
season practitioners; Finally, a year of follow-on coaching
is provided to support you.
5) What is "The
Calling" coaching curriculum?
"The Calling" is a biblically-based
framework for delivery of transformational coaching to individuals
or groups. The Calling is a ready-to-go, scaleable coaching
program consisting of a Participant's manual and Coach's manual
comprising of over 100+ pages plus coaching audios. This provides
coaches with structure and content to immediately use with
new clients. As part of attending the Advancing Ministries
Coaching Academy program you will be given a one-year license
to use this curriculum for your practice or ministry.
6) Is it necessary
to use "The Calling" coaching curriculum in my coaching
practice?
You are welcome to use any approach
or framework for your practice. In the Coaching Academy you
will learn how to coach so that your clients will experience
results in their lives. "The Calling" is a vehicle
used to teach and practice distinctions about coaching during
the Academy and it is also a ready-made format for delivering
coaching to your clients.
7) Is there a yearly
re-certification?
No. Once you have attended the Coaching
Academy you will be certified to use "The Calling"
coaching curriculum. You may use this curriculum at your choosing
and discretion within the bounds of the licensing agreement.
8) Will I be able
to start my own coaching practice after going through the
Coaching Academy?
Yes. The Coaching Academy is designed
to support participants with their current ministry and profession
and provide for them the means to start or advance their coaching
practice. As part of the coaching curriculum you will learn
about the steps needed to create a practice as well as enrolling
of clients.
9) Will I be doing
any coaching during the process of learning to be a coach?
Yes. You will be coached to be a coach;
You will learn to coach by practicing in real time, on-site;
Finally, you will be coached to experience transformation
and a significant change in your life.
10) How much is
the yearly license/membership to continue to use "The
Calling" coaching curriculum?
For context, graduates will have a
full 1 year license to use "The Calling" curriculum
for their coaching practice, a value of $2,000. (Which begins
once you've finished the coaching course.) Additionally, wrapped
with the licensing, we've included 1 year of group coaching,
valued at $1,200. Combined, that is a $3,200 value that comes
as part of the registration into the Advancing Ministries
Coaching Academy.
The licensing will be between $1,500
to $2,000 a year (depending on the options you select). The
yearly license fee will include receiving the annual updates
to the "The Calling" Participant's and Coach's manuals
along with continued group coaching! Even at $2,000 a year
a licensed coach could have immediate return on investment
plus profit after coaching just one group!
If a graduate wanted just the licensing
right or just to have coaching (without use of "The Calling",
because they are doing a completely different version of coaching)
then there will be options for that. You can only license
"The Calling" if you have been through the Advancing
Ministries Coaching Academy.
11) Once I complete
the Coaching Academy will I be able to then coach through
Advancing Ministries?
Advancing Ministry is growing quickly
and is currently inviting Master level or Senior level biblically-based
coaches to join us and be part of our vision. We anticipate
the need for competent junior level coaches. We will be creating
a pathway to have junior level coaches join us on an invitation
basis.
12) How is this
different than ICF? Will I be an ICF certified coach once
I complete the Coaching Academy?
The ICF (International Coaching Federation)
is a virtual (internet) organization and global community
of thousands of coaches. ICF was initially formed to create
a consistent and uniform framework and approach to understanding
and delivery of common coaching principles. ICF certification
is key for being contracted by some large corporate businesses,
which are looking to minimize risk in hiring coaching consultants
or permanent employees with coaching experience.
Ultimately, clients and the referrals
you receive from them, will want to work with you because
of the results you're able to generate, whether in the business
arena or the private/personal domain. You do not have to be
ICF certified to join ICF, nor do you need ICF certification
to be professionally and financially successful in coaching.
ICF is only one of many certifications that a coach can receive
from various coaching organizations. If you are interested,
you can become ICF certified by acquiring sufficient "on
the job" coaching hours.
13) Is this program
accredited? Can I receive CEU units for it?
The Coaching Academy program is not
yet working in conjunction with a faith-based college or seminary.
CEU (Continuing Education Units) may be assigned for this
activity, depending on your individual organization's requirement
for acceptance of work credit. Advancing Ministries would
be glad to write a letter or provide an official outline to
assist you in conveying CEUs.
14) What is the
relevance of Biblically-Based Coaching?
Even though coaching has been around
for a couple of decades, the industry overall is still in
its infancy. In the past decade, businesses have begun to
see the importance of the objectivity and structure that coaching
can provide to positively effect profit. From an individual
perspective, people in general are now beginning to understand
and appreciate the concept of coaching and the value that
it can create in their lives (e.g., marital coaching, life
coaching, wellness coaching, etc.).
The "Church" typically adopts
new approaches and concepts slower than does the culture in
general. Counseling and therapy was held at arms length at
one time, but now they are generally valued in the Church.
Coaching is being accepted in the same manner. Coaching is
now being adopted as a means to honor the individual and the
purpose that God has given them, an activity distinct from
discipleship and pastoral mentoring.
Those who have been trained in biblically-based
coaching will be bettered prepared to context God's truths
into coaching distinctions and principles within the faith-based
realm.
15) I'm already
coaching. Does it make sense to come to this program?
If you are looking to hone your coaching
skills and/or add new Biblically-based transformational framework,
then this is for you. If you want to see a leap in your skill
and approach to enrolling new clients then this is for you.
If you want to experience a substantial change in your life,
then this is for you.
16) If I am a
counselor/therapist, would attending be beneficial?
Yes. Learning the distinctions of coaching
will provide you a new set of skills to integrate into your
practice and offer to your past and existing clients. Coaching
is meant for those who are emotionally grounded and ready
to intentionally and rigorously pursue future-oriented conversations.
17) Can I apply
what I learn in the secular realm, specifically in business?
Absolutely! What you will learn at
the Coaching Academy can be used both in the Church realm
as well as in the business realm. Emphasis will be made on
coaching that is "grounded" to scripture and Eternal
principles. Distinctions will be made about framing language
while coaching your clients, whether using scripture as a
support or the context of scripture (e.g. "sowing and
reaping" - Gal 6:7 vs. using "law of reciprocity"
in secular coaching). A key aspect of transformation is in
people constructing new ways of relating to possibility.
18) I am not much
of a church goer, or don't believe in God. Does it make any
sense to come to this program?
Yes. For clarity, the Coaching Academy
is not about evangelism or proselytizing, or bible study.
The Coaching Academy is about participants taking a Stand
for themselves and others to have a substantial and life-changing
experience. It is about participants engaging the power of
their purpose and walking out a designed future, to be a service
and gift to others they coach, by using what we consider Eternal
principles of how we have been designed to challenge and love
each other.
19) How many people
are in the class?
There are only 12 seats available in
each coaching program offering. This exclusivity assures excellence
and guarantees you will receive considerable individual one-on-one
training and coaching from the master coaches throughout your
five month learning process. Classes fill up quickly!
20) What is covered
in the fee?
Consider the fee to attend as your
investment in your future practice and success. In addition
to the licensing of The Calling and the one year of follow-on
coaching, you will also be receiving 90 hours of on-site,
personal training and coaching from two master coaches. The
on-site coaching alone is a nine thousand dollar value in
the public market place. (Note: Most coaching curriculum offers
only recordings and teleconferences as a means to learn how
to coach and no on-site coaching or coaching manual). You
will also be receiving individual and group coaching through
out the program, as well as receiving considerable content
to add to your coaching tools. All together, this program
is valued at well over $10,000!
21) Do you have
a payment plan?
Yes. There is a payment schedule. Please
refer to the registration form for the details.
22) What happens
when the five months of training/coaching is over?
The program is designed such that by
the end of the five months of training you will already be
in conversations with people wanting to be coached. You'll
be coaching!
As previously mentioned, as part of
attending the Coaching Academy, you will receive one year
of monthly group coaching (via teleconference) to help you
continue to improve your coaching skills and build your practice.
23) After I sign
up is there anything I need to do to prepare for the first
on-site weekend?
A welcome packet will be sent to you
giving you logistics, specific time and dates for the on-site
events. You will also be sent preliminary work to begin the
process of orienting you to learning about coaching and preparing
you for day one. Once you sign up you begin your journey into
the world of coaching!
